Landscapes

I have always felt a deep affinity with landscape and its changing moods, my favourite times being dawn and dusk. You can feel the atmosphere at these times and I've always enjoyed trying to capture that in pastel or paint.

Northern Skies Series

Skies have always fascinated me with their ever-changing moods and forms. They offer me a certain freedom of expression as well, from the carefully blended approach to a more open and expressive approach. These first images of an ongoing series are in oils and I really enjoyed the blending quality of working wet into wet.

Soft Pastel Landscapes

The softness of pastels lend themselves to capturing the atmospheric qualities of landscape. I have always enjoyed the hands on approach with pastels and that feeling of two dimensional sculpting of shapes and forms.
