This is a signed limited edition print of an original soft pastel painting by artist Michael Howley. The subject of the painting is a scene of a hazy sunset over pendle hill from above Barley. The sky is in very soft pastel shades of mauve and pink with a pastel orange glow of sunset at the edge of the hill which is a soft purple-grey colour. The fields are bathed in low light with sheep, lambs, grass and flowers that are backlit. The viewer is led into the scene by a country lane with stone walls on either side and there is an open gate to the right.
